Meet Kelsey
Hi there! I’m Kelsey, one of your hosts here at Maas-ive Fans Book Club & Podcast.
I joke that my whole life is centered around my love of stories. As a kid, I would “record audio books” on cassette tapes with friends, perform monologues from Disney movies for my parents, and spend hours upon hours daydreaming and playing make-believe. This love of stories turned me into an avid reader as a child, and led me to pursue a degree in theatre as a teen and young adult.
Now? I still love stories! Books, podcasts, tv shows, movies, theatre productions … if you give me a really stellar character and keep my blood pumping, I’ll be there!
In 2020, I started a book club with my sister and a few friends, by accident, just by posting about my latest read on Instagram. A year went by and we were all still reading and enjoying hanging out, though over zoom thanks to the pandemic, and in 2021 we started with a new list of books and themes. Kim joined our book club and suggested we read “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas.
Not only did I read it, but I read “A Court of Mist and Fury” and “A Court of Wings and Ruin” all before our book club meeting for the FIRST book happened. You could say I got a little obsessed. Now? I’m thrilled to be able to share my love for these characters and this genre with all of you.
When I’m not reading or working on this podcast (or working my 9-5) I spend time with my hubby who fully supports my love of all stories, as an English teacher with a minor in theatre himself, and my house full of pets (3 kitties and a puppy). In addition to our pet-zoo, we have our first baby on the way in July of 2021! Needless to say, it’s been a busy year so far… but I cannot wait for all of the adventures the rest of the year holds for me, within and outside of words on a page.

Meet Kim
Hi! I’m Kim, and I am co-hosting the Maas-ive Fans Book Club & Podcast with Kelsey.
As a child, I spent most of my time at the theatre and working on shows. I had a vivid imagination – or so I have been told. I also grew up reading lots and lots of books, as my parents were avid readers. If I ever complained about being bored, one of them was handing me a book to read. It has stuck with me, and I am a voracious reader to this day. I got my love of fantasy books from my father- who read and collected sci-fi and fantasy books. He would go to the many conventions and cons around the country and knew several artists and authors of the genre. My creativity led me to college where I earned my degree in Theatre. I eventually went on to graduate school and received a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation – focused on interpretation (aka telling the story(s) of the site.)
The “Court of Thorns and Roses” series appeared as a suggestion based on my current reading preferences a few years ago. I read the first book and promptly devoured the rest of them. A love of the story and characters was born and has not faded since. Reading this series had me reading Sarah J. Maas’s “Throne of Glass” series, and a die-hard fan was born.
When I am not reading, I am mom to 2 cats and a fantastic kiddo who follows in my nerdy footsteps (he joined the local Star Wars BSA Troop), as well as being a wife to an awesome hubby who is also a big nerdy geek. We enjoy many different fandoms from books, films, and TV.
I enjoy crafting, doing art, cooking, and baking. Who knows, I may even share some of my ACOTAR inspired fan-art here. Thanks for listening to the podcast, and I hope you enjoy it and getting to know us.
